Hi, I'm Emily!
I'm a Chicago native that currently resides in a little beach town in northwest Indiana, where I live with my daughter Holly and our two cats Snowdrop + Poppy. I started taking photos in 2014 for a floral business I started and I ended up falling in love with capturing emotion and telling people's stories. I photographed my first wedding in 2015 and I have shot over 200 weddings since then. I am the sole photographer + editor and take a limited number of weddings so I can treat my clients like royalty!
My style of wedding photography
I love capturing people candidly and authentically. Since most people don't feel comfortable in front of a camera (don't worry, I get it!) I prioritize helping my couples to be themselves and directing them as needed so that we create beautiful art that looks exactly like their personalities and their love. I photograph a wedding like I'm writing a novel or filming a documentary - capturing all the little details, the in-between moments, telling the whole story, including things you may have missed in the rush of it all. My niche is doing this in an artistic and aesthetically pleasing way so it's not just memories captured but works of art you can print and hang in your home!

I live in an 1800's house and am living the fixer upper life // I've traveled all over the world and love learning about different cultures - Cuba was my favorite trip ever! // The second I get down time, I am playing guitar, banjo and piano // I thrift almost everything I buy // I am obsessed with every kind of animal // My favorite place on earth is a Clydesdale horse farm in the middle of nowhere but the third largest city in the US is right up there with it // A historical building will stop me in my tracks // I could eat vegetables from my garden for every meal all year long // Some more things I love: hiking, early 2000's hip hop, and making crafts with my artsy 6 year old // I can get even the most sassy of kids to smile and I will probably become best friends with your grandma by the end of the night.
